A stay in hospital at any time can be hard........, but particularly at Christmas during Covid-19.

What a strange and uncertain year it has been for everyone.  Whether you work in the Hospital or elsewhere, or you are just trying to go about your daily business as best you can in the community, we are all having to cope with our own challenges and hurdles.

Having said that, we have been amazed and inspired by local businesses and individuals in the community who, despite the restrictions that have been in place, have raised money for us by running, cycling, making and selling face masks, holding virtual quizzes and many more imaginative events and activities.  We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity.

Christmas is usually the busiest time of the year for the Charity for raising money to benefit patients at the Hospital.  Obviously this year, we are very limited in the nature and number of activities we can hold, because of Covid restrictions at the Hospital.

This year patients in Hospital will be experiencing a particularly emotionally tough time, as visiting is limited and therefore they will not be able to see many of the family or friends as usual.

With your support we can add a little sparkle and some festive silliness to their stay, whether it is activities to keep patients entertained, or some treats and snacks or small gifts to make them feel special. We are grateful for any support you can give at this difficult time for so many.

You can help in a number of ways:

  • Make a donation- this could be instead of sending Christmas Cards, or in memory of a loved one.
  • Our Christmas Draw. With a top prize of £500, and further prizes of a luxury hamper, gift vouchers, toiletries and chocolates to be won, if you would like to be in with a chance of winning then please request some tickets via the Fundraising Office 01322 428392. The winners will be drawn on Thursday 10th December, so you could have the money in time for Christmas!
  • Virtual Christmas Quiz compered by Cllr David Mote, one of our Charity Management Board members via Zoom. You can book your team at £3 each or £15 per team (no more than 6). The Quiz will be held at 8pm on Thursday 10th December.
  • Santa's Shopping List - prefer to give 'something' rather than money? Purchase something from Santa's Shopping List on Amazon to help sprinkle a bit of magic on our patients this Christmas.

Many thanks for your support.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to hold our annual Carol Concert in December due to Covid-19 restrictions.
