Raising funds for the Spruce Ward where Douglas was cared for before passing away. The nursing team were so kind and caring towards grandad but also supported the family. If possible the family would like funds to go towards a bed to help patients families stay with loved ones or whatever would benefit the spruce ward best.
Darent Valley Hospital has 478 hospital beds with a population in Dartford of over 105,000 people. With the strain on the NHS at present due to the Covid 19 virus, it would be great for the local residents to show their appreciation of the staff working around the clock, risking their lives to save and care for others. We have all used the service over the past years, albeit visiting a sick friend or relative, being tested, treated ourselves or giving birth. As we are all self isolating or so
On my birthday (March 24th) 2019 I was rushed into A&E at Darent Valley Hospital with a bad case of pneumonia. I was kept in hospital for 10 days until I was fully well again. I am fundraising for the hospital because I would like to thank for all the hard work the doctors and nurses to help get me better.
I am fundraising for this unit following the care and support they gave Mike during his chemo treatment. It provided a home from home atmosphere, they helped make a difficult time more bearable for Mike and his family.

I'm using my 3 weeks to walk 300km to get myself fit and healthy but also to raise money for the amazing NHS staff.
We want to ensure that every baby born under the care of Darent Valley Hospital receives the very best possible chance to survive and thrive, from the moment they are conceived until after the birth.
I was born at 35 weeks at only 3lbs 14oz. The nurses cared for me so well and mommy and daddy were amazed how much support they had while I was on the Walnut ward. Now I'd like to help other babies have the best care ever on the ward and raise funds for tiny mittens and socks and other necessary items. I was tiny once and the love and care helped me grow big and strong.
Walnut Ward, SCBU and more importantly the doctors and nurses at Darent Valley will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll never be able to thank them enough for what they did for me and my family. I would however like to raise some funds to help them continue their fantastic work and so that others in my position can benefit from the amazing work and equipment they have on offer.
