Ride4Life Reunion ride

On Sunday 13^th August, 16 riders who took part in Ride4Life - Darent Valley to Amsterdam Charity Bike Ride 2019, reunited for a ride to Darent Valley to recognise the approval of our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) soon to be upgraded to a Neonatal Unit.

SCBU and our Cancer Services were the beneficiaries of money raised in sponsorship of our riders in this Valley Hospital Charity event. Riders were delighted that staff from SCBU came down to greet the team and were also joined by Sarah, the wife of one of the riders, Grahame Green, who sadly past away in June 2021 from a reoccurrence of Cancer, to recognise his huge achievement and contribution to the ride.

It was so lovely to see everyone, recount stories and remember a dear friend.

Dartford & District Nurses League visited Darent Valley Hospital to donate to Silver Birch

The ladies are a group of ex Nurses and Midwives whose association is coming to an end with the closure of their League. One of their final acts was to donate an amazing £1220 to our Silver Birch Fund to benefit our older patients.

Sam Hodgson climbed the 3 peaks Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours for units who cared for his son Flynn, born at 25 weeks gestation.
