On Wednesday 13th March, the Charity Management Board said thank you and goodbye to Councillor Pat and Doreen Coleman as they stood down from the committee. Both Pat and Doreen have volunteered at the Trust for over 25 years. When Pat was Mayor of Dartford, his very first donation to the Hospital was a special chair for Radiology. He then went on to be instrumental in supporting Valley Hospital Charity's Lollipop Appeal and the Little Buds Fund during his terms as Mayor. Both Pat and Doreen have dedicated a lot of time and energy into supporting the Hospital, and have been heavily involved in the annual Stride4Life event.

Unfortunately, Doreen was not well enough to attend the farewell but Pat said,

“Doreen joins me in thanking you so much for the hospitality, flowers and gifts at the farewell meeting. Doreen was always part of our input over the years and the driving force behind all we have endeavoured to do for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. We will miss volunteering but do intend to come along to Stride4Life”.

Sally George, Fundraising Manager for Valley Hospital Charity said,

“As a Trust we are extremely grateful to our volunteers and people like Pat and Doreen who are real treasures. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our hospital and patients and we wish them the very best as they spend more time with their 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren!”
