We had the pleasure of inviting our volunteers to Darent Valley Hospital on Tuesday 27th November, for a get together and recognition of their hard work and dedication they provide.

The Hospital has over 150 active volunteers that contribute vital services to help enhance patients' experience and provide support for staff, from meeting and greeting visitors to providing companionship to unaccompanied adults in the A&E department.

During the event, CEO of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, Louise Ashley, and Head of Fundraising and Voluntary Services, Sally George, presented volunteers with Long Service Awards showing the amount of years service volunteers had dedicated to the Hospital. The badges awarded recognised a range from 1 year to an incredible 15 years, all of which are hugely appreciated by everyone at the Hospital.

Below, Shirley Simms, a Meeter and Greeter, was presented with a 15 year service badge.

The afternoon was a great opportunity for volunteers to catch up or meet new faces, and share their stories of their time spent helping at the Hospital. It was also fantastic for the Fundraising and Voluntary Services Department to be able to thank those volunteers present, for generously giving their free time and acknowledge the vital role they play in the running of the Hospital.
