Your business can make a huge impact on the care we provide at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. Through supporting Valley Hospital Charity you can help us buy new medical equipment, enhance the Hospital environment, and improve patient experience. You can do this by:

  • Company donation
  • Employee fundraising
  • Corporate sponsorship
  • Charity of the Year
  • Donating gifts at Christmas etc.
  • Volunteering

Company donation

If you are looking for a good cause to benefit from a charitable donation from your company, perhaps at the beginning of your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) journey, then we would love to hear from you. We can talk to you about your particular interests and can help identify a specific area of the Hospital's work that aligns best to your Company's values and complements your brand. We are very lucky to have benefited from the support of a number of local businesses and branches. As a local charity with only regional relevance we rely on our local community, patients and their friends and family, many of which may be your employees, to support us to deliver the best care at their local Hospital. By supporting Valley Hospital Charity, you can help make a big difference to the availability of world class care on your doorstep. Please do get in touch to discuss how we can coordinate a donation that provides you with a best fit for your organisation, giving you good PR and benefits our patients and staff.

Employee fundraising

Europa Worldwide Group employee, Credit Manager Chris McGurk, based at their headquarters in Dartford, put forward the idea of fundraising for a new play area after visiting his friend’s children on Willow Ward in 2017.

"It was devastating to see the children on the Ward having to stay indoors due to the play area being in bad condition. I wanted to see what Europa could do to help to give the children the most positive experience during their time in hospital. Now, just a few months later, the children have a brilliant new facility. I’m so pleased we’ve been able to make a difference to the young patients of Willow Ward, and their families. I hope they have as much fun as possible exploring their exciting new ship!"

If you would like to know how your employees can support the Hospital then please do get in touch. We have lots of fundraising materials available to support any charitable activities.

Corporate sponsorship

Photographed: Dartford Living and Downton and Ali Associates sponsored our Ride4Life Team cycle jerseys in 2017.

There are a number of opportunities to sponsor events and campaigns each year at the Hospital. Whether it be supporting the design and print costs for a particular health focus week for us to educate the public and staff, or supporting a medical or fundraising event, where we can maximise your brand exposure, we would love to discuss this with you.

Charity of the Year

If you have a Charity of the Year Scheme at your company then please nominate Valley Hospital Charity. Whether you would like to raise general funds for the Charity to improve care where the need is greatest, or would like to support one of our appeals we would love to hear from you. We would be very happy to come and speak to staff and offer fundraising materials and support throughout the year.

Our Cancer Fighting Fund was chosen as the Charity of the Year 2016/17 by Sainsbury Dartford who took part in lots of fundraising activities.

Donating gifts at Christmas etc.

Being in Hospital at any time can be a worrying and stressful time, but particularly over Christmas, a time to be at home with family, it can be very upsetting. Whether it is an elderly relative, or a young child or baby, we try and bring some festive cheer to our patients. With your help, by donating gifts and treats we can make sure that a Christmas, Easter or birthday doesn't go by without our patients feeling it is a special time and they are cared for and not on their own.

Volunteering

British Gas Training Centre staff based at Crossways in Dartford provided a team of 8 volunteers, who transformed the dull and dated furniture in the Children's Ward playground at Darent Valley Hospital, with bright and vibrant child friendly colours. The team also managed to source the materials to build 2 raised planters, to enhance the environment at the back of the Hospital near the Valley Walk of Life brick path. If your business provides staff volunteering days then please do get in touch and we can look to identify a worthwhile project at the Hospital.

If you would like to find out how your business can support Valley Hospital Charity and improve patient care then please don't hesitate to get in touch 01322 428256 or email [email protected]
