Michael was amazed at the Chestnut Ward's staff's care, hard-work and support to himself and other patients. To thank the NHS staff Michael has made a guitar musical video dedicated to the NHS which he filmed the first day out of bed from recovering from COVID-19! Music is mutual love to Michael and his family, who often perform in a family band called The McGonigles who supported our Virtual Family Fun Day on 12th July 2020. Their drummer is a paramedic on the front line, their singer is a teacher and Michael is fighting his personal battle against Coronavirus. Michael's film has received thousands of views and caught the attention of many newspapers: Thank you to the NHS for helping saving my life. Michael and his family have taken this gratitude further and raised £510 for the staff directly who are risking their lives to help others during this testing time. They have raised this money for the NHS to give them a boost of positivity and to remind them how grateful Michael and his family are.
