Michael McGonigle contracted COVID-19 during the Coronavirus pandemic and was admitted to the Chestnut Ward at Darent Valley Hospital where Michael valiantly fought the virus and was discharged to fully recover at home. Michael was amazed at the Chestnut Ward's staff's care, hard-work and support to himself and other patients.

To thank the NHS staff Michael has made a guitar musical video dedicated to the NHS which he filmed the first day out of bed from recovering from COVID-19! Music is mutual love to Michael and his family, who often perform in a family band called The McGonigles who supported our Virtual Family Fun Day on 12th July 2020. Their drummer is a paramedic on the front line, their singer is a teacher and Michael is fighting his personal battle against  Coronavirus. Michael's film has received thousands of views and caught the attention of many newspapers:

Thank you to the NHS for helping saving my life

Michael and his family have taken this gratitude further and raised £510 for the staff directly who are risking their lives to help others during this testing time. They have raised this money for the NHS to give them a boost of positivity and to remind them how grateful Michael and his family are.

"We would like this video to give hope, calmness and help to highlight the amazing work of the NHS"
