Sally George Head of Fundraising and Voluntary Services Expand Sally has worked at the Trust since 2016, having worked in the charity sector for over 20 years. Sally enjoys running and cycling and launched the Charity's inaugural Ride4Life event in 2017. She recently completed a years secondment at the London Ambulance Trust and has returned with a host of new ideas and initiatives to benefit and enhance VHC!
Mark Cullen Community Fundraising Manager Expand Mark joined the team in February 2021 having worked primarily in financial services for most of his career. Mark is a cycling fanatic, with one of his biggest achievements being cycling the Stelvio Pass in Italy as photographed. He has completed several challenge events such as LEJOG 2022 (Lands End to John O'Groats), London to Paris x2 (2015,2022), The London Revolution 2016, Classic Alpine Cols 2018, The Dolomites and Stelvio 2019, Paris to Geneva 2017, Ride London x3 (2015, 2018 & 2022) Pyrenees Traverse 2023, Euro Cities 2022 (London-Amsterdam-Brussels), The London Triathlon 2023 and Swim Serpentine 2023. He is now gearing up for his 2024 challenges!
Charitable Funds Committee Representing the Corporate Trustee, the Committee meets 3 times a year Expand Purpose The Charitable Funds Committee exists to oversee the governance of Valley Hospital Charity (Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust Charitable Fund) on behalf of the Board of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of charitable Trustees. The Committee also exists to ensure that Valley Hospital Charity complies with its charitable objects. The Charitable Fund should be applied to wherever Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust provides its services. Charity Management Board A volunteer board which meets 6 weekly to review funding requests and approve charitable expenditure Expand Purpose The Charity Management Board exists as a sub-committee of the Charitable Funds Committee, to manage Valley Hospital Charity (Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust Charitable Fund) by executing plans, monitoring actions, and making decisions regarding expenditure in relation to all the sites from which the Trust operates, within the framework agreed by the Charitable Funds Committee, and the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions. Sarah Young Fundraising and Voluntary Services Team Assistant Expand Sarah joined us in February 2021 as our new Team Assistant. Sarah is a Unit Manager for Dartford St John Ambulance Badgers, a voluntary group for youth members aged 5-11. She also volunteers with other local community groups and associations.
Lucy Fox Business Process Officer Expand Lucy has worked at the Trust for over 16 years, supporting the Charity as it has grown. Lucy manages our supporter database and our online giving platforms, as well as supporting our volunteer recruitment. In her spare time Lucy plays Netball.
Elaine Rowe Volunteer Coordinator Expand Elaine has worked at the Trust for over 13 years, and works primarily on volunteer recruitment and their daily management. Elaine's hobbies are Ten Pin Bowling and plane spotting!
Joan Warwick and Carol Woodgates Stride4Life Fundraising Volunteers Expand Carol Woodgates and Joan Warwick MBE (L-R) Joan Warwick MBE is a fundraising volunteer, having been the founder and Chair of the Stride4Life Committee, and organised the inaugural Stride4Life sponsored walk and Fun Day in 2004. Stride4Life has become the Charity's flagship fundraising event. Stride4life and its associated fundraising activities have raised just shy of £500k since it began in 2004. Joan is also a member of the Charity Management Board and supported the Christmas and Summer Charity Draws. Carol Woodgates, like her sister Joan Warwick, works on Stride4Life campaign activities, in particular tracking and processing the income raised by Stride4Life supporters throughout the year. Carol and Joan also do their own fundraising for Stride4Life, including a Pamper Evening at the Hospital. Carol also organises the Christmas and Summer Charity Draws, is a member of the Charity Management Board.
